What size rug do I need to buy in order to end up with a 5ft round rug? It’s a pattern that would look great in the round rug and I want just a basic binding I guess ?!!!!!

Based on the information you provided it would seem that you have a specific pattern in mind. If this pattern comes in the form of a pre-made rug then you will need to purchase a rug that is at least 6’ by 6’. If this pattern comes in the form of carpet; carpet comes in 12’ widths and you would need to order at least a 6’ 6” by 12’ piece.
Keep in mind that if ordering carpet you would have a 7’ by 6’6” left over and you may want to consider making an additional rug from your remnant.
